ลิง
ลิง หรือ วานร (อังกฤษ: Monkey) เป็นชื่อสามัญของสัตว์ในไฟลัมสัตว์มีแกนสันหลัง ชั้นสัตว์เลี้ยงลูกด้วยนม จัดอยู่ในอันดับวานร (Primates) ลักษณะท่าทางคล้ายมนุษย์ ซึ่งจัดอยู่ในอันดับเดียวกัน เนื่องจากมีบรรพบุรุษร่วมกันมา ก่อนที่จะมีวิวัฒนาการแยกตัวออกจากกัน เมื่อ 2-3 ล้านปีก่อน[2]
ลิงมีตีนหน้าและตีนหลังใช้จับเกาะได้ มักปีนหากินบนต้นไม้ได้อย่างคล่องแคล่ว พวกที่มีหาง เช่น ลิงวอก และพวกที่ไม่มีหาง เช่น กอริลลา เป็นต้น[3]

- ลิงโลกเก่า คือ ลิงทางซีกโลกตะวันออกแถบทวีปเอเชียและทวีปแอฟริกา ไม่มีหาง มีพัฒนาการของนิ้วหัวแม่มือให้หันเข้าหากัน เพื่อช่วยในการจับสิ่งของ มีฟันกราม 2 ซี่ เช่นเดียวกับมนุษย์ และมีความสามารถในการมองเห็นได้ดีมาก อาจเป็นบรรพบุรุษของเอป มีภาษาของตัวเอง ลิงโลกเก่านั้นมีอยู่หลายชนิด เช่น ลิงแสม, ลิงบาบูน และลิงแมนดริล
- ลิงโลกใหม่ คือ ลิงที่พบทางแถบอเมริกาใต้และอเมริกากลาง อาศัยอยู่บนต้นไม้ มีหางยาว และสามารถใช้หางช่วยในการยึดเหนี่ยว สมองในส่วนของประสาทที่เกี่ยวกับการมองเห็นพัฒนาการขึ้นอย่างเด่นชัด มีฟันกราม 3 ซี่ ลิงโลกใหม่ที่พบ ได้แก่ ลิงแมงมุม, ลิงฮาวเลอร์, ลิงคาปูชิน และลิงมาโมเสท[5]
- ลิงไม่มีหาง หรือเอป คือ ลิงที่มีวิวัฒนาการสูงกว่าลิงจำพวกอื่น มีจุดเด่น คือ มีร่างกายที่ใหญ่โตกว่าลิงทั่วไป ไม่มีหาง มีนิ้วใช้หยิบจับอาหารหรือสิ่งต่าง ๆ ได้ดีกว่าลิงจำพวกอื่น และมักใช้ชีวิตบนพื้นดินมากกว่าบนต้นไม้ พบได้เฉพาะทวีปแอฟริกาและเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้เท่านั้น มีอยู่เพียง 5 จำพวก คือ ชะนี,กอริลลา, ชิมแปนซี, โบโนโบ และอุรังอุตัง เท่านั้น[6]
ความสัมพันธ์กับมนุษย์[แก้]
ลิง เป็นสัตว์ที่มนุษย์รับรู้เป็นอย่างดีว่า เป็นสัตว์ที่ว่องไว มีความซุกซน อยู่ไม่นิ่ง จนมีคำเปรียบเทียบในสำนวนไทยว่า "ซนเหมือนลิง"โดยเฉพาะใช้กับเด็ก[3] เนื่องจากลิงเป็นสัตว์ที่มีความฉลาดและใกล้เคัยงกับมนุษย์มากที่สุดในบรรดาสัตว์ทั้งหมด จึงสามารถฝึกหัดให้ใช้งานต่าง ๆ ได้ เช่น เก็บมะพร้าว หรือแสดงการละเล่น เช่น ละครลิง เป็นต้น[5]
ในอักษรไทย ลิงเป็น 1 ในพยัญชนะ คือ ล โดยเป็นตัวที่ 36 ในบรรดาพยัญชนะทั้งหมด 44 ตัว จัดเป็นกลุ่มอักษรต่ำ [7]
นอกจากนี้แล้ว ในความเชื่อโหราศาสตร์แบบจีน ลิงเป็น 1 ใน 12 นักษัตร โดยเป็นนักษัตรลำดับที่ 9 เรียกว่า "ปีวอก"[8] ในทางศาสนาและเทพปกรณัมของจีน เห้งเจียเป็นลิงที่ติดตามพระถังซัมจั๋งไปอัญเชิญพระไตรปิฎกถึงชมพูทวีป เป็นลิงที่มีฤทธิ์เดชมาก สามารถปราบปีศาจร้ายได้[9] ทำนองเดียวกับหนุมาน ลิงเผือกที่เป็นทหารเอกของพระราม ในวรรณคดีเรื่อง รามเกียรติ์[10]เป็นต้น
ลิงในประเทศไทย[แก้]
ในประเทศไทยมีลิงอยู่ 5 ชนิด (ไม่นับชะนี, ค่าง และลิงลม) คือ ลิงเสน, ลิงกัง, ลิงแสม, ลิงไอ้เงี้ยะ และลิงวอก[5] ซึ่งทุกชนิดล้วนแต่เป็นสัตว์ป่าคุ้มครองทั้งหมด[11]
