อินทรี

อินทรี (อังกฤษ: Eagle, ละติน: Aquila) เป็นนกจำพวกนกล่าเหยื่อขนาดใหญ่ ในวงศ์Accipitridae อันดับ Falconiformes (วงศ์และอันดับเดียวกับ เหยี่ยว) มีโครงสร้างทางกายภาพที่แข็งแรง ประกอบด้วยโครงกระดูก กล้ามเนื้อ ส่วนต่าง ๆ ขน และกรงเล็บเป็นหลัก จัดอยู่ในประเภทนกที่ล่าเหยื่อเป็นอาหาร มีขนาด ปีก และ หาง ที่กว้าง ลักษณะปลายปีกแหลมหรือปีกแตก จะงอยปากงองุ้มเป็นตะขอ อินทรีเป็นนกที่มีลักษณะสวยงาม แข็งแรง สายตาคม บินเร็ว โจมตีแม่นยำ มองเห็นเป้าหมายได้จากระยะไกล มีเพดานบินตั้งแต่พื้นราบจนถึงความสูง 2,100 เมตร และจัดได้ว่าเป็นสัตว์ที่มีสายตาดีที่สุดในโลก^[2] ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่จะมีสีเข้มและสร้างรังบนหน้าผาที่สูงชัน

อินทรี

อินทรีเป็นนกที่มีขนาดใหญ่และแข็งแรง เป็นนกที่กินเนื้อเป็นอาหาร ซึ่งได้แก่ ปลา,งู, สัตว์เลี้ยงลูกด้วยนม ขนาดเล็กเช่น หนู และเป็นนกนักล่าซึ่งล่านกด้วยกัน และไข่นกที่มีขนาดเล็กกว่าเป็นอาหาร อินทรีพบอาศัยกระจัดกระจายอยู่ตามพื้นที่เขตต่าง ๆ ทั่วทุกแห่งในโลก ยกเว้นพื้นที่ในทวีปแอนตาร์กติก ที่มีอากาศหนาวเย็น

ในประเทศไทย มีอินทรีอยู่ด้วยกันจำนวนหนึ่ง อาทิ นกออก หรือ อินทรีทะเลปากขาว (Haliaeetus leucogaster), อินทรีทะเลหัวนวล (H. leucoryphus), อินทรีดำ (Ictinaetus malayensis), อินทรีปีกลาย (Aquila clanga) เป็นต้น^[3]

เนื่องจากเป็นนกขนาดใหญ่ น่าเกรงขาม และบินได้สูงและกว้างไกล ทำให้มีความสง่างาม ในเชิงของการเป็นสัญลักษณ์แล้ว อินทรีถูกมนุษย์ใช้ในเชิงสัญลักษณ์เป็นระยะเวลายาวนาน ในหลายวัฒนธรรมของทุกมุมโลก เช่น เป็นสัตว์ในป่าหิมพานต์ชนิดหนึ่งของไทย^[4] หรือ สหรัฐอเมริกาได้ใช้อินทรีหัวขาว (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของประเทศ^[5] เป็นต้น
